In 2020, as schools closed nationwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of Harvard and MIT students founded CovEducation (CovEd) to support K-12 students navigating the shift to remote learning. Through a free virtual platform, CovEd paired undergraduate mentors with students, offering one-on-one tutoring and mentorship to bridge educational gaps.
What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit uniting volunteers and students from across the U.S. Today, CovEd partners with schools and nonprofits to deliver in-school and after-school programs, while also introducing initiatives like ABC Clubs for extracurricular engagement and CovEd Labs to pilot innovative educational ideas.
